Own Books Inspires is pleased to announce a new creative session workshop for year 6 pupils:
THE GREAT BIG PHONE OFF
A thought provoking and stimulating creative session, centred around healthy and mindful mobile phone use, including interactive, immersive and fun activities.
A Day to Dream
This is a whole day workshop with professional artist facilitators, including Storytellers, poets, & writers, themed with Nature, as a powerful healing, revitalising, essential energy. It is an opportunity to give children a chance to be inspired by Nature and express their artistic, creative, imaginative inner space, with the guidance of professional artists. There is NO CHARGE for the workshop to your school, as we have been generously funded by the National Lottery to pay for this special event for your school. We are hoping that you will be one of six, on first come first included basis. We are hoping to conduct 4 workshops in the spring term 2023 between March and May.

This is the name given to our active and popular workshops, that are completely free for all participants.

We offer fun ART MAKING workshops for young people and their families to work creatively
together. These are run by high quality professional artists as facilitators. We utilise books from our scheme which are too worn and dilapidated and offer opportunities, space and time to get imaginative by making artworks with them.

These are very popular with children and adults working together intergenerationally in community settings and we endeavour to run these free of charge for participants when we get the funding.
We also offer mentoring and training workshop facilitation for young adults wishing to have
work experience in this activity.

The materials used in our workshops to build book houses or castles are actually from old books that are no longer in a good enough state to be distributed out for use. Instead they are recycled for the workshops.
